Chemical
A substance formed by altering the molecular structure of a natural material or combining two or more elements to form a new substance.
Collagen
A fibrous protein found in the connective tissue that makes skin resistant to stretching.
Comedone
A mass of solidified sebum, blackened by oxidation, clogging the follicle.
Congestion
Excessive internal buildup. This prevents the skin from functioning properly.
Corynebacterium

Cosmetic
According to the original 1938 legal definition, cosmetics are: “(1) articles intended to be rubbed, poured, sprinkled or otherwise applied to the human body or any part thereof for cleansing, beautifying, promoting attractiveness or altering the appearance and, articles intended for use as a component of any such articles; except that such term shall not include soap.”
Cyst
Large raised and swollen skin disorder formed when several impacted follicles break down and merge together.
Ceramides
Biomimetic lipid matrix that repairs and maintains the functionality of the skin’s epidermal lipid moisture barrier. Reverses transepidermal water loss, dehydration and dryness – which lead to skin sensitivity. Increases skin firmness and elasticity.
Chamomile
The flowers of chamomile provide volatile oils containing alpha-bisabolol and matricin (usually converted to chamazulene), as well as bioflavonoids that contribute to chamomile’s renowned ability to soothe skin sensitivity and inflammation. It accelerates healing and diminishes discomfort of skin irritation, including redness, itching and pain. Its anti-inflammatory property is especially beneficial for sensitivity.
Carnosine
A natural occurring di-peptide in a liposome complex that prevents cross-linking and stiffening of collagen by glycation. Smoothes expression lines (frown lines, crows feet, laugh lines) while collagen fibers stay elastic and protected.
Cucumber
Moisture-binding, anti-inflammatory and soothes irritations; good for dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin. Adds natural cucumber scent to the mask.
Cannabis Sativa CBD Oil
Provides profound anti-inflammatory effects, reducing redness and helping to heal the skin. It is rich in essential fatty acids that nourish and support cell integrity.
Comfrey
Comfrey has a long history of use as a topical agent for healing of wounds. Its remarkable power to heal tissue is due to its Allantoin content that aids in the regeneration of damaged skin by stimulating new tissue growth. Soothes and calms sensitivity.
Corn Starch
Provides high oil absorption.
Cupuacú
Cupuacú is a butter extracted from the seeds of Theobroma grandiflorum, a tropical `plant that grows wild in the regions of the Amazon River. Known as ‘Rain Forest Shea Butter’, Cupuacú is an emollient that promotes high moisturization and film formation on the skin. Reverses and prevents transepidermal water loss and repairs the skin’s barrier.
Cacao Fruit Powder
The Cocoa bean has been used for over 2600 years for it stimulating and euphoriant properties. Cacao contains beta-phenylethylamine, the so called “love chemical”, responsible for the energizing effect of cacoa. Also contains polyphenols for protection from cell damage, and theobromine which is involved in lypolysis and increases blood microcirculation for cell detoxification.
Clove Oil
Powerful antiseptic with a strong germicidal effect. Stimulates circulation.
Camphor Oil
Antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and astringent properties. Stimulates blood circulation. Cooling and refreshing on the skin.
