Tissue Desensitizing

Every skin that you work on has the possibility of being in a sensitized state.  This does not mean that every skin is a sensitive skin.  A severely sensitive skin cannot tolerate anything applied to it.  This is an extreme case and a doctor should be attending to this problem.

Factors that could put skin in a highly sensitized state are:

Chemical Burn  (Peels, Accutane, Retin A, Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Benzoyl Peroxide)

Sunburn  (Sun, Tanning Bed)

Windburn                                                          Heat burn

Antibiotics                                                         Antihistamines

Alcohol Consumption                                     Dehydration

Cigarette Smoking                                           Improper homecare products

7 to 10 days prior to menstrual cycle           Pregnancy
