Benzoyl Peroxide Gel 5%

This water-based gel is used for milder acne and/or drier skins.  The gel form is more potent than cream forms because it has a better rate of penetration into the follicle.  When applied to the surface of the skin, BP penetrates into the follicles and releases oxygen.  This oxygen kills the bacteria that cannot survive in the presence of oxygen.  Benzoyl Peroxide also has a keratolytic affect on the skin causing it to peel.  It is during the peeling process that the follicles are "opened up" and impactions can surface or be extracted.

Suitable for all mild acne, normal, dry and very dry skin types.

KEY INGREDIENTS

Benzoyl Peroxide  An anti-bacterial ingredient that functions by forcing peroxide into the follicle where it releases oxygen, killing the anaerobic P. acne bacteria.  It also causes peeling deep in the follicle, which loosens acne impactions and prevents new impactions from forming.  It controls oil, reduces inflammation and is unsurpassed in treating all grades of acne.
